Why Most Marketing Fails in Your Concierge Business

All the things that didn’t work

All the Things That Didn’t Work (and What Actually Does)

When I tell you I’ve tried it all, I mean it.

 Networking groups
  Business expos
  Local events
  Print advertising
Giving my services away for free
Raffling services at big fundraising events
Volunteering to “rub elbows” with the “people with money”
  Flyers in the grocery store
My name on pens and notepads
Social media: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram
  Listing sites
  Business directories
  Press releases
Flyers in mailboxes in “rich neighborhoods”
  Underpricing myself
My face on the cover of a magazine
A huge article in the local newspaper
  A spot on TV

And guess what?

Not a single one of these was a game-changer.
Not one of these helped me grow a million-dollar errand and concierge business.

If you’re trying to start a senior concierge business or grow one, this is your wake-up call: relationship marketing is where the magic happens.

Why These Tactics Failed

None of those tactics built real trust. None of them created consistent referrals or steady clients. They just… drained time and money.

Most people start their business thinking these are the ways to “get noticed.” I did too. But looking back now, I wish someone had told me:

Knowing what NOT to do is almost as valuable as knowing what TO do.

What You Should Be Doing Instead

If you’re preparing to launch or already running a non-medical senior concierge service, stop wasting your time and budget on shotgun marketing strategies.

Instead, learn how to:

  • Build high-trust relationships with your local community

  • Price your services right from the start

  • Talk about what you do in a way that makes people want to hire you

  • Create systems that let you scale

Here’s the Truth…

Most people quit before they ever see success. And it breaks my heart.
They keep doing things that don’t work. They keep hoping the next flyer, ad, or post will bring them clients.
