Is Your Marketing Just Another Flyer in the Mail? Here’s How to Stand Out

We just wrapped up open enrollment for Fully Booked Business Club (FBBC) and part of my post-launch process is always a deep, thorough review… I teach my students to do the same because what gets measured gets improved.

So as I was reflecting on what worked (and what could be better), I was talking to my husband about marketing and client outreach… explaining to him the difference between warm traffic and cold traffic.

That’s when he made a statement that showed BINGO… he got it…!!

He said, “Oh, so warm traffic is like people who already know you… and cold traffic is like the realtor who sends us stuff in the mail. It’s just another piece of paper we toss.”

Oof. Right?

Because let’s be honest… how often do we throw away mail from someone we don’t know, trust, or need in that moment?

So, here’s where this applies to YOU and your concierge business… 

If you’re marketing like a random realtor mailing out flyers, you’re spending time, effort, and energy on people who don’t even notice you.

But if you focus on warm connections… people who already know you, trust you, or have an interest in what you offer… your efforts go further.

Here’s how to make sure your marketing isn’t just “another piece of paper in the mail”:

  • Reconnect with past clients & contacts. A simple “Hey! How have you been?” goes a long way… People hire those they already know and like.

     

  •  Speak to a specific problem. Instead of generic “I do everything” messaging, tell people exactly how you help them.

     

  • Stay visible in ways that feel natural. Show up where your ideal clients already are… whether that’s local networking, community groups, or referral partners who actually engage with you.

 

When you build relationships first, marketing doesn’t feel like cold outreach… it feels like a conversation… and that’s the difference between being ignored and being Fully Booked.

So, as you look at your own business this week, ask yourself… Are you building relationships? Or just sending “another piece of paper in the mail”?
