How Doing THIS Will Grow Your Business!

When I first started my business back in 2010, I was NOT the business owner you see before you now!! THAT is for sure!!   I have learned A LOT about how to grow your business since then.

I didn’t really know what to do to start my concierge business.

All I knew is that 1) I just QUIT my day job to dive into starting my own business 2) I needed to find a way to replace the income I left behind = PRONTO 3) I needed to prove to myself that I didn’t just make the BIGGEST mistake of my life ?

So, I basically jumped with NO net!!

When I started, there were VERY limited resources available to me, everything I did, I did from scratch and the things I did in the beginning – well most of them were plain AWFUL!!

BUT – I did what most people don’t do – I went out there and did it all anyway!!

From learning how to network, to my first AWFUL website. From those business cards, we made that didn’t even have my email address on, to those first clients that paid in cash because I didn’t have a business account set up yet … To those trifold pamphlets I bought in bulk and put anywhere I could think…

Everything I’ve done, I’ve had to figure out from scratch, almost ALL on my own.

The problem with this is that doing and figuring it all out on my own took its toll on ME, my confidence, and the $$$ I was bringing in …

I made a LOT of mistakes trying to grow my business.

My mistakes cost me a lot of $$$.

Everything I DID, ended up needing to be redone by someone who had more expertise than me!

That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others build their businesses SOO Much faster than I did!! I want to SEE YOU succeed!! AND with less of the pitfalls!

I have this thing about wanting to “help people”. I’m sure you have that desire to??

And in my attempt to HELP, I want to break down some of the things I learned the hard way lol!!

What I focus on today has to do with setting your business up to grow and getting your business started with a solid foundation. Knowing HOW to enroll new clients so that they become repeat clients and how to AVOID some of the most common mistakes …

One of the things people don’t PLAN or prepare for is that FIRST initial in-person meeting they have with a client. It is in that VERY meeting you have the GREATEST opportunity to turn that client into a “repeater” and if you’re more advanced – it is in THIS meeting, you have an open window to help convert that client into a “membership” client in the future (if you haven’t already done so) …

SO what can you do during that initial meeting that will help you ONBOARD your client like a Rockstar and lead to faster GROWTH in the process?

When we meet a client in their home for the first time, we have a multi-step onboarding process we take our clients through, it looks like this:

  • Set up a time convenient for your client.
  • Do a full “needs assessment” (what they need now, current issues and projects that they need done)
  • Have your client fill out a New Client intake form ( o that you can learn more about them and their family)
  • Build a relevant client file that includes things like: who lives in the home, any pets to be aware of, important birthdays, favorite foods, flowers, etc. (it’s a great way to surprise them with the occasional “thank you”).
  • Collect all relevant information from your client in order to complete a task. Such things could include getting an extra set of keys or garage codes. Or, where do the groceries go? Is there a spare room for storage? Is there a list of reliable service professionals they use?
  • Review all business policies with your “new” client.
  • Collect payment information. How will they pay for your services? Cash, check, or credit card?
  • Your clients may also ask for proof of insurance as well, so be sure to have that readily available too!

How you prepare for those sales conversations and what YOU PUT in your sales kit can be the EASIEST and cheapest thing you do to grow your business– to show what a professional you are!
