Today, I want to save you a whole lot of pain, confusion, and wasted money. I’m going to teach you something I wish someone had told me sooner especially if you’re trying to build a personal concierge business or launch services that help seniors age in place.
But first, a little story…
The Expensive Lesson I Learned the Hard Way
Years ago, I joined a high-level business mastermind. It cost me $6,000 a year and I stayed for years. Honestly, it felt amazing to be surrounded by other people chasing big dreams and investing in their growth.
But it also completely messed with my head.
I was just starting out, trying to get my first few clients. I’d sit at tables with entrepreneurs who had full-blown websites, automated email funnels, video series, even VAs (virtual assistants). They told me to charge $150 an hour and take one week off every month for self-care. Meanwhile, I hadn’t even figured out how to consistently get new clients yet.
So I listened. I spent thousands on a list-building summit. I hosted events. I created offers I wasn’t ready for.
And I did it all before I had a solid foundation.
The worst part? I lost confidence in myself and in the business I was working so hard to build. I thought I was “behind” when in reality, I was just trying to act like I was at a more advanced stage than I actually was.
Sound familiar?
If I could go back, I’d put on blinders and tune out all those shiny objects. That’s why in my coaching programs, I only teach what works at the stage you’re in. Because once you build a business the right way, it’s possible to scale it to multiple six figures with confidence and without burnout.
Let me help you figure out where you are right now, and exactly what you should (and shouldn’t) be doing.
Start-Up Stage
This is where you’re laying the groundwork.
You’re choosing your niche, defining who you help, and figuring out how to talk about what you do. For those of you learning how to start a profitable senior concierge business, this stage is everything. You’re creating your foundation don’t skip it.
Here’s what you need to focus on:
Get clear on what services you offer.
Choose a niche (ex: running errands for seniors, companionship, home organization).
Make your pricing EASY to say yes to.
Build your intake forms and onboarding process.
Get the right insurance this is non-negotiable.
Most people skip these steps and dive straight into fancy marketing tactics. But if your messaging isn’t clear, those tactics won’t work.

Emerging Stage
You’ve launched, you’ve had a few clients but now you’re stuck in what I call “spaghetti marketing mode.” You’re trying a little bit of everything: social media, flyers, maybe even a newsletter… but nothing’s sticking.
Here’s your new focus: consistency.
At this stage, you must:
Pick one or two marketing strategies and MASTER them.
Build a routine around networking and outreach.
Use tools and systems that simplify your marketing.
Your job now is to optimize your time. You want to build a rinse-and-repeat plan that brings in clients month after month.

Advanced Stage
If you’re earning near or over $75K a year, you’re in the advanced phase. But here’s the truth:
What got you here won’t get you to $150K or beyond.
You can’t keep doing it all yourself. Many senior concierge business owners get stuck here they’re afraid to hire help, afraid to let go of control, and afraid to step into the CEO role their business needs them to be in.
Here’s what to do now:
Scale the marketing strategies that already work.
Start building a team.
Protect your time like the valuable asset it is.
Shift your mindset from “doing” to “leading.”

Final Thoughts
Trying to act like you’re further ahead than you are won’t help you grow faster. It’ll slow you down.
Whether you’re just starting your senior concierge business or ready to hit your next income milestone, the key is to build from where you are not where someone else is.
So take a breath. Get focused. And choose the right next step based on your actual stage of business.
