Make Money at a Concierge Business by Doing This
If you want to know how to make more money in your concierge business, first you need to get out of the weeds of the day to day “tasks” of being a concierge.
The past 4 weeks I’ve been leading 20 amazing concierges from all across the globe in our Ignite Your Business program!! The reason why THIS training is so successful is because I am literally hand holding them to spend more time and mental focus working ON their business and not just in it!
Oh – and if you missed the opportunity to join us in the Ignite Your Business program, you can HOP on the waiting list and be one of the 1st to know when we open enrollment again – which may be later this Fall.
There’s NO obligation at all, but if you want to be the FIRST to know, you can hop on the waiting list here – https://theconciergeacademy.com/ignite.
OK – so back to my point!!
You see, the problem with MOST entrepreneurs is that they focus all their time on working IN the business and NOT working ON it!
Why might working IN your business all the time HURT someone’s chances of being truly successful?
Simply put, there is no long-term planning. No one is looking at or paying attention to what “could” happen (or should happen) from week to week, or month to month. Or WHAT should happen next year or even three years from now.
Planning and focused marketing that is done strategically is what ultimately helps you make more money in your concierge business. But without planning…
Business owners often don’t PLAN for bigger outcomes. They don’t PLAN to learn new skills. And once you become SOOOO engrained in your OWN business, you can’t even see where the disconnects are because you’re so enmeshed IN your own day to day business. You don’t even see what’s missing or wrong or disconnected.
That’s exactly why I pay to be part of masterminds, coaching programs and business communities… I KNOW that in order to get NEW ideas, I need to surround myself with people who THINK differently than me.
If you’ve been listening to me preach for some time, then you realize that I believe marketing is the work that is REQUIRED of you to get more clients, grow your business and have a bigger impact in the world.
Successful entrepreneurs are those that know that marketing is your #1 job to getting more clients.
But without creating time to market, people often fill their days with unimportant tasks and activities that get in the way of their big goals!
One of the greatest things you can do for yourself while building your business is CREATE Focused Business Development time! Also known as Clearing the Decks!
This concept sounds “so easy.” But I know how hard it really is. Our brains naturally want to FIGHT against creating structure!
Stay with me …
Whether you’re starting a new business or ramping up the one you currently have, the idea is to eliminate time wasters during the day and learn how to say NO to disruptions.
Building a business is NO easy feat! So it’s imperative that you are purposefully creating a structure in your life and business to focus on client attraction and business development.
This week, take the time to look at your schedule and see where you can make improvements. Schedule in the necessities and put a pause on all non-essential tasks that are robbing you of valuable time.
Here are 5 ways you can create time for marketing and business growth:
- Block out time on your calendar daily for all marketing efforts
- Make networking a priority several times a month and be sure to schedule these events in advance (especially while you’re in the “building” phase of your business)
- Schedule in necessary “follow up” time for after networking
- Create monthly business development days to focus solely on business growth (to focus ON the business not just be IN it)
- Schedule quarterly business reviews to make sure you’re staying on target to reach your monthly/yearly goals
- In order to create this type of consistent structure in your life and business, you’ll have to be very diligent as to how you spend your time and what activities you say yes or no to.
What activities might you need to say no to? At least while you’re ramping up your business. Are you volunteering several times a week at other functions or in the kids’ classroom? Do you take a break in the middle of the day for TV? Do you squander time on social media (totally have been guilty of this too)!
In addition to cutting back on volunteer efforts, put a pause on family tasks and other non-money generating activities. Instead of running out to the grocery store in the middle of the day or waiting in line at the post office, set time aside SOLELY for your OWN personal errands. Do NOT make the mistake of heading out to Target when you should be focusing on your marketing plans over the next 3 months.
Do you want to make more money in your concierge business this year my friend? Then start treating it LIKE a business – and not your side hustle. ?
