That’s when it hit me… I needed to run my business, not let my clients run me.

5 Simple Ways to Protect Your Time + Energy

Here are five boundary hacks I wish I’d used from Day 1:

 

1. No discounts.

• Incentives are fine…discounts often attract the wrong clients.

 

2. Spell out your hours.

• “My working hours are 9–5, Monday–Friday” leaves zero room for confusion.

 

3.Pick your communication channels.

• Email, text, software, or scheduled calls? Let clients know how to reach you.

 

4.Set texting expectations.

• If you allow texting – make sure you have set boundaries and YOU need to stick to them too! Example: “I reply to texts within 24 hours” or “I don’t respond to texts after hours or weekends – expect a response next business day” … This is so people stop expecting 24/7 replies.

 

5. Get it in writing and signed!

• A clear service agreement keeps scope creep at bay and sets professional standards.
